Ahhhhh I finally did it~!!! I’ve been meaning to share my piano playing but I’ve procrastinated on this for so long because I wasn’t sure how to get my recordings directly from my piano onto the computer. I didn’t like how my other recording had all this excess background noise where you can hear the keys being pressed and stuff. I felt that was really distracting. I also didn’t have the capacity to look into everything until now but it took so long that I finally said fack it! IDGAF anymore. Audio only! Anyway, I’m glad I finally figured it out! Weeeee!!! It was actually a LOT easier than I thought — I was totally overcomplicating things. I’m glad I took a step back and went back to the basics. Also, I’m unsure why my piano recordings came out so low volume? I had to use software to make it louder… hopefully it didn’t distort the sound too much.
I believe this piece is the main theme for the Ghibli movie Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind? I’m not actually 100% sure but the title of the piece seems to suggest so lol. I came across it on Youtube many years ago from someone’s channel when I was looking into electric pianos and absolutely loved it. I loved it so much I hunted down the sheet music and taught it to myself. It’s still one of my favorite pieces to play! I added my own slight “jazzy” spin to the piece so it’s a bit different from the original. I hope you like my version 😊. I actually only watched the movie for the first time maybe around a month ago and liked it a lot!!! The protagonist is so wise, compassionate, and empathetic. She has such a kind and caring heart. I really connected with her character.
Also, MY POOR LITTLE FINGERS — this took SO many takes. Dear lord lol. How do professionals do it?! So much props and respect to them. I lost count of how many times I had to re-record because of my random mistakes 🥺. I also haven’t been practicing consistently so that’s probably another factor. Anyway, I ended up leaving a few mistakes in there because I didn’t want to keep trying anymore lmao. Maybe in the future I’ll record a better version without any mistakes. For now, this will have to do. I hope you enjoy ❤️
